As we put a pause on the Herder Finals, it's time to turn our attention to the mainland. Don't miss any of the action this week as the AESHL's Clarenville Caribous make the trip up to Dundas, Ont in search of the club's 2nd Allan Cup ? 

The Bous' quest for the Allan Cup gets underway tomorrow evening at 5:00 PM as they take to the ice to face the newly crowned J Ross Robertson Cup Champions; the Hamilton Steelers. Having just formed at the start of this season, the Steelers will be presenting themselves as a new competitor for the Caribous.

This Tuesday the Caribous will face a longtime mainland rival, the Dundas Real McCoys. These 2 clubs last met at the Clarenville based 2015 Allan Cup, where the Caribous beat the Ontario team 2-1 in the quarter-finals. However, it was their matchup the year before that has since gone on to be their most memorable. In 2014, the last time Dundas hosted the national tournament, the Caribous and Real McCoys found themselves in the Allan Cup Finals. There, it would be the host who prevailed, beating the Caribous 3-2 in double overtime to become the national champions. When these 2 clubs meet this Tuesday at 5:00 PM, it will be the first time since 2014 that they've clashed in Dundas.

The round-robin wraps up for Clarenville this coming Thursday when the Caribous meet yet another club for the first time. Along with the Steelers, the Innisfail Eagles are another club foreign to the Bous. The birds of Innisfail are walking into the tournament as reigning Alberta champions, having beat out the Stony Plain Eagles. Puck drop is set for 9:00 PM on Thursday, which will close the book on Clarenville's first set of Allan Cup round-robin games since their 2015 host year.
