On Friday night, the Clarenville Ford Caribous defeated the Southern Shore Breakers by a score of 1-0 to claim the Avalon East Senior Hockey League’s Joe Maynard Championship Trophy. The Caribous won the series 4 games to 1.

Kevin Reid was named the recipient of the George Connors Memorial Award as playoff MVP for his heroics throughout the series, scoring several pivotal goals for his club.

The Caribous will now advance to compete for the prestigious Herder Memorial Trophy against the CWSHL champion Deer Lake Red Wings.
