With just 11 days remaining until the opening puck drop of the 2026 Allan Cup Challenge, excitement is building in the town of CBS as the Baker Flooring Blues prepare to host one of Canada’s most prestigious senior hockey events.

Coming off a disappointing Herder Memorial loss, the Blues have quickly turned their focus toward the national stage, setting their sights on bringing home an Allan Cup title on home ice.

This marks the first time the championship has returned to Newfoundland since 2015, when it was hosted in Clarenville by the Caribous.

Five teams will compete for the national title:

• Baker Flooring Blues (Host)
• Clarenville Ford Caribous (NL Representative)
• Wentworth Gryphins (ONT)
• Stoney Creek Tigers (ONT)
• Minto 81’s (ONT)

The Tournament normally features 6 teams but a very late drop out by the Powell River Regals (BC), Left the host committee in a very tough position to fill the sixth position, while there were some talks with another club from Ontario to fill the void despite strong efforts by the host committee a replacement team could not be secured.

Both Newfoundland representatives will ice strong, experienced lineups, bolstered by key additions from across the AESHL as they prepare to compete on the national stage. While the Blues havent formally announced their roster yet the Caribous have.
